After the trial period that was the first edition of the academic impact and social inclusion project called Mwana Luzito, which took place last year at School Complex No. 8014 – ABC, in the Municipality of Kilamba Kiaxi, with around 150 5th graders, the 2nd edition of the Project is starting this week, at elementary school No. 3048, on Rua dos Comandos, Cazenga, in Luanda.
The second phase, which will last two months, aims, now with much more experience gained, to maintain the onus of creating the project, which is to integrate children into social life in all aspects, including family life, which is the most important organ of a society.
The “Mwana Luzito” comic strip was born out of the same project and this second edition will also include a comic strip magazine which, to a certain extent, always helps to implement the guidelines drawn up for the smooth running of the project.
It should be remembered that MWANA LUZITO, an expression from the Kikongo language meaning “Respectful Child”, is a project created by the Gianni Gaspar Martins Foundation, GGMF, in partnership with the Institute of Religious Sciences of Angola, ICRA, and is implemented in a context in which, in Angola, the need to instill, from an early age, civic values and practices of respect for others and for the world, in the processes of seeking satisfaction and exercising personal rights, is becoming increasingly apparent.
